Thank you for visiting our
web site and I hope that it will help you to get to know
a little about our church. Now that we are in the 21st
century we recognize the challenges and opportunities
that have been presented to us. Never before have we had
to face the threat of terrorism and mass destruction right
here on our own soil. Because of that people are having
to approach life and the future with a whole different
mindset.
The church is having to
equip itself for new challenges. At the Inverness Church
of God our theme has been "Across the street and across
the sea". We not only want to have a positive influence
in some foreign countries but we recognize that the mission
field within our own neighborhood is just as important.
The meals that we serve every Saturday at noontime increases
each week and our ministry called "Adopt a Block" has
become a very important one. We have adopted a trailer
park across the street from our church and members of
our church are there every Saturday morning helping to
minister to the needs of that small community.
Our church also prides itself
in the many facets of ministry that goes on each week.
Our church is a praying church, a worshipping church,
a caring church and a lively church. Throughout the year
we participate in corporate fasting and prayer. We are
excited about worshipping God. With the leadership of
our "Praise Team", musicians and the worship leader we
are brought to the throne room of God each week. Our caring
ministries not only include our Soup Kitchen but the Adopt
the Block, Men in Action, Love in Action, Primetimers,
and also a weekly health and nutrition class that is open
to not only the church members but also the community.
If you are considering a
move to Inverness we would like for you to be our guest
to a vibrant, exciting Pentecostal worship service. We
are a bi-racial, multi-cultural congregation. Our church
is affiliated with the Church of God of Cleveland, Tennessee.
Many heartfelt blessings
to you,
Larry Powers
