The Inverness Church of God was established in 1949. We have ministered to the spiritual needs of the church in Citrus County and Inverness, Florida continuously over all these years. We are a Pentecostal church believing in the freedom of the Holy Spirit to operate in our services. We have individuals who attend from many different church backgrounds, but we believe all may worship in their own way. We are a multi-cultural, multi-racial church and wish to embrace all who visit our church. WE EXIST: To CELEBRATE God's presence through our worship To DEMONSTRATE God's love through our loving ministries To COMMUNICATE God's Word through evangelism To EDUCATE God's people through discipleship. MISSION STATEMENT Our mission statement comes from Matt. 28:18-20 and Matt. 22:36-40. Matt. 28:18-20 "Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." Matt. 22:36-40 "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Based upon the above scriptures, we have adopted the following mission statement: "To obey the Great Commandment and to fulfill the Great Commission".
